Daily Schedule

Hilton Head Holiday Lacrosse Camp coaches have designed a regimen that includes intensive individual instruction and preparation of players for the upcoming season. The goal of the camp is to refine basic skills by emphasizing the fundamentals, while ensuring that each player leaves camp with a fresh appreciation for the game via learning exciting new techniques. Though instruction will be geared mainly to players with some experience, beginners are encouraged to attend.

Coaches & Staff

 

 

Kevin Cassese:  3X 1st Team All-American at Duke,  2001-2003. 2X finalist for Tewaaraton Trophy. ACC Player of the Year 2003.  Division I National Midfielder of the Year, 2003. USA World Team Member, 2003. 2nd player drafted in 2003 MLL Draft.  All-pro midfielder, Rochester Rattlers, 2004.  Assistant Coach, Stony Brook University.

  John Tucker:  Head Coach Severn School, Maryland. 3X All-American midfielder, Johns Hopkins, member 1984 NCAA Championship Team.  USA World Team member 1986, 1990, and 1994.  All-World Team 1986 and 1990. 1987-1992 All-Pro Philadelphia Wings (MILL/NLL) midfielder. Past head coach Gilman School (10 years), Loyola High School (4 years), Loyola College (1 year).

  Dan Chemotti:  HS All-American midfielder at West Genesee in upstate NY.  2X All-ACC player and Team Captain at Duke.  Currently midfielder, New Jersey Pride MLL and Assistant Coach, Dartmouth College.

  Chris Gunkel:  4X varsity midfielder, Loyola College. Member 1990 NCAA Division I runner-up team. 3 years midfielder, Baltimore Thunder, MILL. Member 1991 All-Club Champion, Greene Turtle LC.

 John Holthaus:   1st year varsity midfielder at Washington College, 1986 NCAA Division III Runner-up. 3 year varsity midfielder Loyola College. 2 year player for Philadelphia Wings, MILL and member of 1990 MILL Championship Team.  Assistant Coach Loyola College, 1990.  Member 1992 Baltimore Thunder, Greene Turtle LC, 1990-1992, Atlanta LC, 1993-2000, Club League All-Star 1993-1999.

At least one Pro defenseman and one Pro goalie will be staff members as well, though more may be added dependent on number of campers enrolled at each position. 

Above individuals will be present for all sessions: however, HHHLC reserves the right to replace staff with players of similar caliber, if needed, due to last-minute changes or conflicts.  Depending on numbers, camp staff will also include additional college/ HS coaches and ex-college varsity players. Local head coaches Mike Cummings of SCAD , Matt Lindner (ex-North East HS of Maryland and new at Hilton Head HS), and Scott Sharp (2004 SC Coach of the Year and new at Bluffton HS) will be staff members along with visiting coach, Mike Donio, of Christian Brothers College HS of St. Louis.

  Rich Thomas, President of Hilton Head-Bluffton Lacrosse, and former Princeton player will be Camp Director.

  Certified Trainer:  A certified trainer will be present at all camp activities

Registration Information

CAMP COST:  $495 if registered before Nov 29th.  $545 if registered Nov 29th -Dec 20th. Registration fee includes room at first-class Hilton Head area resort and catered meals, use of fields and recreational facilities, camp jersey and instruction. A reduced commuter rate is available for local area players. Call 843-301-1143 or 843-681-6901 for details.

GROUP RATES: Group of 5 - $15 off each; Group of 10 - $30 off each; Group of 15 - $45 off each.  Group rates will not apply to commuting players.

SIBLING RATES: First child - full price; second child and each additional child - $50 off each.

CAMP DEPOSIT:  $250 per camper, check only, make payable to HHBLA—Camp:  submit with application form.  Non- refundable after November 1st, 2004. A cashed check is your receipt for deposit.  Balance of registration fee will be due by December 1st, 2004. Further information, directions, and final details will be mailed upon receipt of deposit.

EQUIPMENT: Campers must provide their own equipment.

CHECK-IN/OUT:  Normally check-in is between 12 noon and 4 PM on December 27, 2004. There will be an all-camp meeting at 5:00 pm Dec 27th.  Check out will be about 12:00 noon on December 30, 2004. Special arrangements for check-in up to 2 hours earlier can be made subject to prior approval.

TRANSPORTATION: Hilton Head Airport (HHH) is on the island and is currently served by US Air. Savannah Intl (SAV) is 45 minutes south and is served by most major airlines. Parents can arrange airport transfer through Low Country Adventures. Call 800-845-5582 at least 2 weeks prior to arrival and mention HH Lacrosse Camp, or reserve on line at www.lowcountryadventures.com using frequent user ID  14119. Camp rate is $49 round trip. HEY  PARENTS!  Special room rates for campers families have been arranged with local, first-class resorts. Though out-of-town campers will be required to room in campers lodgings for the nights of camp, their families can stay in nearby beachfront resorts if desired.  If you are interested in vacationing while your son is at camp, please contact Rich Thomas at 843-681-6901.
